Now we'll get to some of the rookie shows that I've been following this season.
New Amsterdam - season 1
Sometimes teary-eyed drama about a medical director of a huge hospital in NYC (and expecting father) who has to battle cancer while dealing with stressful situations in his job.
I like it, to me it feels a bit like a successor to Grey's Anatomy emotions-wise. But it's not very realistic to have someone undergoing chemo running around all day... And that maybe/won't they angle with his "2nd in command", all the while the pregnant wife at home... hm... But they seriously need to beef up the supporting characters. But I'll keep watching.
The Rookie - season 1
Midlife crisis strikes when a 40+ year-old man, fresh from divorce, witnesses a bankrobbery and decides to join the police force. Now, he's the oldest rookie in town, him and his fellow rookies each paired up with a seasoned patrol officer in Los Angeles.
Like it, good mixture of drama on patrol and in each of the personal histories: Cop turned drug addict wife of one of the teaching officers, omission of felon family members, love interests, being targeted by gang... definitely will tune in again.
Manifest - season 1
Mystery-series about a plane which appears again 5 years after going missing. What happened during those 5 years? Who's responsible? And a little kid seems to be the key.
Quite suspenseful, but not as engaging as the other 2 series. The middle of the season dragged on a bit, to be honest. Not sure whether I'll tune in again.
