Bull - Season 2

Still like this even though Bull's crisis mode was a bit unexplained... and Cable should have stayed gone because what she did damaged the whole firm, and there's no excuse for that. But the team still could use some fleshing out, save for family issues which get a bit tiresome (because let's face it: is there any programme out there that doesn't have relatives, secret kids, missing parents etc pop up from under stones left and right?).

Bull's going to survive his heart attack, of course - because without Bull there'd be no "Bull" after all. So the cliffhanger doesn't really leave me breathless with suspense. But Weatherly could certainly use some decent fitness workout, I'd say.

Homeland - Season 7

I liked this season better than the last one... but some issues get a bit repetitive. Carrie's bipolar disease only pops up for real every third season, there's a bit of a pattern there. Her family issues don't have me on the edge of my seat since I'm not watching Homeland for that purpose but to see some spy-drama. The Russians interfering in American politics... well, let's face it: If they hadn't had support within the American governmental bodies, the plan wouldn't have worked. Personal greed, resentments, ambition... all so easily exploited. But what exactly was the motivation of Yevgeny? Why wouldn't he abort his mission when ordered? That wasn't really clear.

Just one thing, Saul: Carrie's compromised, she has been from the start of this programm. She never should have been put in a position where her medication/illness was used against her. I mean, you wouldn't send an insulin dependent diabetic into a hostile situation, neither would you send an epileptic on anti-seizure medication. Was there no other female agent? What exactly was her role in Moscow - sometimes taking a peek at some camera material, but she gave no orders in the original plan. So why tempt fate?

And what about Keane? Her resignation looked awfully contrived since she can't tell me that a president under fire and on the verge of being disposed of, can just resign without provoking another major state's crisis. And that the vice president seems to be a halfway decent guy doesn't change that fact. Also, her involvement in the conspiracy in season 6 was also shoved out of the way quite easily. And finally, again, there was no real reason given for all the opposition she was facing, neither in season 6 nor now... just misogynism that had men so frustrated? Because I've seen too little of her actual politics to warrant such violent opposition. That strike against Iran reeked of misogynism, all the admirals, the boys-club, the chief of staff overruling her (without any consequences!!! *That* would have been reason enough to step down if my chief of staff went over my head and ordered a strike)... urgh.

So, next season will be apparently Homeland's last... let's see how Carrie comes back from the brink (if she doesn't end up like Brody, half mad and as a literal sacrificial lamb instead of just the mental one that she is right now.).
